The National Student Advertising Competition is a premiere college advertising competition, offering students valuable experience with a national client. For the 2017 client Tai Pei, an Asian frozen food company, we were challenged to increase awareness, trial and loyalty, specifically for millennials. While researching, we stumbled across the insight that these 18 to 25 year olds considered themselves as almost adults. Therefore, we redefined our target audience as the “Almosts”, those who celebrate stepping stones to adulthood, like preparing a meal by themselves. Thus, the “Taste the Triumph” campaign was born.
